TheUnoffcialVote.com approached Sao Silvero Ltd about a short term marketing project for the US General Election on November 4th, 2008. They wanted to operate a web based poll targeting non-US citizens to informally gauge how the rest of the world would vote, if they could, in the US election.
This project demonstrates how effective microsites can be. Sao Silvero designed and launched the microsite cost effectively and in a very short time frame. It is an entirely HTML based site with additional poll functionality, but demonstrates the advantages microsites have in marketing single issue topics effectively, rather than through a company's primary website. There is no concern about the sometimes complex and limiting issue of building the parent site's look, feel and technology into a microsite, which allows it to be positioned perfectly for its target audience and enables it to be easily terminated as soon as its purpose has expired.
